Armyworms Eating Arkansas Lawns:
If you have noticed caterpillars in your lawn, on your driveway, or patio, you are not alone!
Armyworm activity is best seen in the early morning or late evening. Indications of armyworm activity in your lawn are areas that are turning brown, and/or signs of drought that get larger by the day. It does not take long for them to work across your entire lawn, and leave you with a dead looking, brown lawn, void of grass.
Their preference is lush well fertilized bermudagrass, however, they can feed on a variety of grasses and plants. It is easiest to see them from a lower angle, as they feed parallel to the blades of grass.
